THE HOPE PROJECT

United by Hope. Creating a Future Beyond Cancer.

The HOPE Project is a UWCSEA student-led fundraising campaign in partnership with Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), created to support underserved communities through three essential pillars of cancer care: childhood cancer treatment, HPV vaccination and early detection of cancer.

CPAA has been working towards the “Total Management of Cancer” for over five decades. Its work spans the entire cancer journey—from awareness and prevention to screening, treatment, rehabilitation and support for patients and their families. A central focus of this work is helping people whose access to cancer care is limited by financial and social circumstances.

HEAL — Childhood Cancer Treatment

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, treatment can place an enormous emotional and financial burden on a family. Funds raised through The HOPE Project will support medical and financial assistance for children from underserved communities, helping them access timely cancer treatment and giving them an opportunity to heal and return to school, family and everyday life.

PROTECT — HPV Vaccination

HPV vaccination offers an important opportunity to prevent HPV-related cancers, including cervical cancer. The campaign will support CPAA's efforts to make HPV vaccination more accessible to young girls and women from underserved communities.

DETECT — Early Detection

Cancer detected early can provide an important opportunity for timely diagnosis and treatment. Funds will support awareness and screening initiatives that bring early detection services closer to underserved communities.

The partnership between UWCSEA and CPAA has continued for more than a decade, creating measurable impact. Together, the partnership has supported the treatment of 276 childhood cancer patients and helped 2,314 healthy individuals from underserved communities access early detection initiatives.

The HOPE Project builds on this legacy by bringing students, families and the wider community together around a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to prevent cancer, detect it early and access the treatment they need.

United by Hope, we can help create a future beyond cancer.
